2 brand new Ford F-550 Super Duty Diesel Aircraft Crash Rescue Trucks! This is a very special delivery since these items are state of the art using a new compressed air foam system..

Both of these trucks will replace 2 older units and serve Pegasus, Williams Field and the Ice Runway here at McMurdo Station Antarctica! This brings out fleet to 5 ARFF trucks!

Something that makes these units unique are the MATTRACKS, these bad boys replace the tires and make this already 4WD truck an off road monster. this will take the deepest snow and muck and plow right through!

Operation Deep Freeze The New Zealand Story
On the ice this week, November 2017! I’m in Antarctica. It’s fascinating – another great work story. Our Defence Force’s annual mission in support of Antarctica New Zealand’s work this year includes six Hercules and five Boeing flights, and the involvement of up to 220 people across the three locations of McMurdo Station, Scott Base and Harewood Terminal in Christchurch. Back on Friday. Picture: The Defence Force Senior National Officer, Lieutenant Commander Ross Hickey, me, Antarctica New Zealand Chief Executive Peter Begg and Claire Kibblewhite of the Minstry of Defence.
